Figaro Learns About Credit Cards

(Here is The Audio Version by Audio Acrobat:)

Once upon a time there was a flamingo named Figaro.

Figaro liked to go shopping and to buy things. He liked to use his money to buy shoes, toys, games and candy. One day Figaro ran out of money. He wasn't going to get any more money for two weeks. Figaro went to his mom to ask her if she had any money to give him. She didn't have any. Then he went to ask his grandma, but she didn't have any money either. Last, Figaro went to ask his dad for some money.

Figaro's dad didn't have any money either, but he did have two credit cards.

He gave one of the credit cards to Figaro. Figaro's dad said that if he wanted to buy something he could use this credit card, but he would have to pay the money back later. Figaro thought this was ok since he was going to have some more money in two weeks. Figaro's dad told him that he could buy some of the things he wanted with the credit card, but he thought it was best to just save it for emergencies.

Figaro must have not listened very well when his father told him that part because he went right out shopping to spend the credit card real quick.

He bought a new pair of shoes, and a new game too. He got his feathers re-done and got his shoes waxed and soon he didn’t have any money left on the credit card for buying. Figaro felt like this was an emergency, so he spent the emergency credit card money too! He spent it on other things he wanted to buy like a scarf to match his shoes and a hat to match his scarf so he would have a beautiful outfit.

When Figaro got his money two weeks later, he also got a letter asking him to pay back the money he used from the credit card.

Figaro had to give all his money straight to the credit card and he ran out of money again! This time he learned his lesson and just used his emergency money for emergencies. He bought himself some food to eat for two weeks, and that was it. When he got another letter to pay back the money for the credit card it wasn't as much as before and he didn't have to send all his money away. Now he had some money for food and something new. He also had his credit card in case of emergency too.

The End.
